Synopsis of Thesis
My work is grounded in the psychology of space, allowing my research interests and practice to come to fruition in various forms. I have found my practice to be improvisational sites in which the constructed and ready-made bring to question the urban dwellers’ surroundings and the making of the world through Architecture, Landscape Design and Urban Design. My research choices are intentional and draw on the human desire for order, connection and beauty, inviting the viewer to move into a space of speculation on a different scale than the norm. I want to assist the viewers’ discovery of the arrangement and representation of an area and how this influences the way they move through and interact with said space. I use the frame of the natural landscape and psychoenergetic* science to provide an understanding of the relationship between topographical designs and the environment. Through built environmental psychology and design, avant-garde, surrealism, and minimalism, I can facilitate the rearranging of received ideas. The objects I make are place in the canon of bio-architecture and sacred geometry to make visible what is commonly overlooked in the historicizing of the environment.
